Terms and Conditions of Service

On your very first lesson your instructor will go through everything you need to know about learning to drive with TCM driving school.

Fit to drive

It is a legal requirement that in order for you to drive you must hold a current UK driving licence (Full/Provisional) and this shall be presented to your instructor for inspection on/prior to your first lesson.

You must be fit to drive at all times legally and medically.

You must be able to read a car number plate from 20.5 metres for the old style plates and 20 metres for the new style plates.

If you are taking any medications please check with your GP to make sure you are fit to drive. Some over the counter medicines may also affect your driving.

Your instructor reserves the right to terminate your lesson if he suspects that you are unfit to drive or under the influence of alcohol or drugs and if so the tuition fee will be charged for that lesson.

If in doubt please contact your instructor 24 hours prior to your scheduled lesson.

How to Pay your Tuition

1. Cash  – To be paid at the start of each lesson.

2. Bank Transfer – To be paid at least 1 day in advance before the lesson so that it clears in time.

Cancellations / Re-booking

We understand there may be times you are required to cancel or rearrange your lesson.

Please send an SMS/WhatApp message to your driving instructor giving at least 24 hours notice.

This will allow your instructor the opportunity to allocate your time slot to another student.

Failure to do so may result in you being charged for that slot (please always obtain cancellation confirmation from instructor).

If you are unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19 (a continuous dry cough, fever, loss of smell and taste) and you don't feel well enough to drive then please cancel your lesson giving 24 hours notice and self isolate until you are well enough for the next lesson.

In the unlikely event your driving instructor needs to cancel your lesson due to unforeseen circumstances, for example; adverse weather conditions, they will rearrange your lesson for you at a more suitable time providing you with as much notice as possible.

Please note if lessons are consistently cancelled or failure to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice on a regular basis, your instructor reserves the right to terminate tuition altogether and any advance payments may not be refunded.

Insurance

Rest assured that your instructor will carry the appropriate driving tuition motor insurance should you be involved in a collision as a learner driver while in control of driving the instructor’s vehicle.
